The Jigawa State Government said it has earmarked N1.8 billion for the construction of a senate building and Vice Chancellor’s lodge at the state university, Kafin-Hausa.
The Commissioner for Information, Youth and Sports, Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim, disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Dutse. He said that the money was approved during the state executive council meeting on Wednesday.
He said N1.6 billion was set aside for the construction of the senate building, while N128 million would be used for the construction of of the vice chancellor’s residence.
Ibrahim said N143.3 million would be used to compensate land owners in Malawa, Zilawa and Aragada villages in Kafin-Hausa Local government Area, where the university was sited. (NAN)
