Universities in Nigeria have been
publishing their post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination dates
and methods of application for those candidates who meet their cut-off
marks from the 2014 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination organised
by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
As a concerned citizen, I want to bring
to the notice of relevant authorities the hidden charges and the stress
prospective candidates are made to go through in order to complete their
applications.
More worrisome is the fact that the cost
of application usually published in the newspapers is not what these
candidates eventually pay. In most cases, candidates are made to pay all
kinds of extra charges during the course of registration, which are not
stated in the publication.
This act is fraudulent and these universities must be stopped from exploiting these candidates further.
