After 14 years, Okorocha Approves Gratuity For Primary School Teachers
Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has approved the payment of gratuity to primary school teachers in the state who retired between 1990 and 2000.
Similarly the governor has approved N36,000 per annum as medical bill for every civil servant in the state.
Governor Okorocha who disclosed this during an interactive session with the civil servants/retired workers at Imo International Conference Centre, Owerri, yesterday, maintained that all the workers in the state are entitled to the approved medical bills.
He stressed that the state government has also released funds for equipping the state secretariat with basic amenities such as computers and working tools, adding that the state government is working out measures to provide buses before December to facilitate free transport for the workers in the state.
While addressing the senior citizens , he noted that the state government is set to pay bulk pension of two months every month to pensioners to enable government offset their 13 months outstanding arrears.
Governor Okorocha also expressed the determination of his administration to pay the families of those who lost their lives while waiting for their pensions.
