NSUK matriculates LVT students
The Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) on Thursday August 7 held its matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted students of the Long Vacation Term (LVT) programme, also known as Sandwich programme, at the NSUK Convocation Square.
The occasion witnessed a large turnout of parents/guardians, relatives, friends as well as principal officers of the university.
The matriculating students were urged to take their studies seriously and not allow themselves to be used as instruments of violence and immoral activities such as drug abuse, cultism and prostitution on campus.
About 1,000 students were admitted into the LVT programme for the 2013/2014 academic session.
Some of the new students expressed joy, describing their matriculation as a milestone. John Markus, a Sociology student, said: “I had a very wonderful and special day with my family members who came to celebrate with me, amidst other friends and well-wishers.”
In her words, Justina Emmanuel, a student of Religious Studies, said: “I am grateful to God for sparing my life to witness and celebrate this day with my course mates and relatives. I hope this will be the beginning of our greatness in this institution.”
As the sandwich students are getting prepared for examinations, undergraduate students of the university are warning up to resume from their long break to commence full academic activities for the 2014/2015 session on September 15.
