The war against unemployment in Nigeria has received a boost with the National Youth Service Corps enlisting a firm, Smiles Consulting, to help corps members to secure quality employment after service.
With the move, the NYSC would work with the firm in the training of corps members on its Job Awareness and Creation initiative.
According to the Director, Smiles Consulting, Harry Nnoli, the collaboration is in line with the vision of the NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olubumi.
Nnoli added that the partnership was part of the firm’s social responsibility of building youth capacity in the country.
He said, “This is a result of many years of collaboration with the NYSC on building capacity for the youth and tackling issues of graduate unemployment, underemployment and employability.”
Meanwhile, the NYSC is said to have endorsed the book You’re Hired, an employment manual, authored by Nnoli.
The author said the NYSC had endorsed the book for young graduates and professionals on how to secure and create jobs.
