VC Confirms That Student Union Gov’t Will Soon Be Back to UNILAG


The Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos (Unilag) has confirmed that the Student Union Government (SUG) will soon be established at the academic institution, following the inauguration of a 43 man constitutional drafting committee for the Students’ Representative by the Unilag Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rahamon Bello.

According to information on our news desk, the membership of the committee were drawn from the staff and students of the academic institution.

While describing the inauguration of the committee as a turning point in the student’s unionism in the school, the Lagos State University Vice Chancellor also went on to disclosed that the committee would provide a framework for a full blown students’ union in the university.

We would also love you to note that “Before the commencement of this process, the management board had taken tours of similar academic institutions around the world with the hope and intention of gaining understanding of how students have organized themselves to contribute to the smooth running of academic activities of the universities they have visited.
