Kebbi ABU students cry out over scholarship

The indigenes of Kebbi State studying at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, have condemned their home government for its inability to pay them their scholarship allowance. The students, under the auspices of Kebbi State Students Association, claimed that the state government has not been paying scholarship and bursary allowance when due.
The President of the Association, Abubakar Chika, said their counterparts from other states have been benefiting from the scholarship from their state governments, noting that “we are the only ones that have not been given any scholarship by our state government.”
The secretary general of the association, Gali Muhammed, said, “ABU students of Kebbi State have not been receiving scholarship and bursary since 2007/08 academic session. We have been trying all our possible bests and following all due process, but all we get in return is neglect and disappointment from the government.”
The members of the association appealed to their executives and patrons to come to their aid by facilitating the payment of their scholarship allowances.
