Three
dead bodies have as at now been recovered from the carcass of the
helicopter that crashed minutes ago a lagoon at the Oworosoki area of
Lagos.
THISDAY gathered that three persons who sustained varying
degrees of injuries were also rescued and rushed to different hospitals
for immediate treatment.
However it's yet unclear if the deceased and injured persons were onboard on the helicopter or pedestrians on ground.
The helicopter which crashed behind the King's palace was said to have caused pandemonium as the residents scampered to safety.
Although
its still not clear if its a military, commercial or private helicopter
that crashed, the South-west Spokesperson for the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the casualty
rate.
He said even as some of the primary and secondary responders responders are moving, three corpses have been recovered.
He
also said two injured persons have been taken to Afolabi Hospital in
the area while another injured person was taken to the general hospital.
Speaking to THISDAY he said, "As at now, we don't know the identity of the chopper yet. Search and rescue operations continues."
