KWASU best graduating student gets N1.6m
The best graduating student of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete during the 2012/2013 academic session,
Mohammed Tukur Ameen, has received a donation of N16.5m from the state government to pursue his Ph.D programme in the United States. He graduated from the Depatment of Computer Science.
The cheque was presented to him by the state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Wahab Opakunle.
Opakunle said the gesture was in fulfillment of government’s promise to sponsor first-class graduating students, adding that Ameen graduated with a first-class and a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.96 out of 4.00 points.
He commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, for producing such an outstanding student and urged the awardee to build upon his striking academic qualities.
