Watermark Academy launches entrepreneurial development centre
TO create a sustainable economic advancement and ecosystem to drive the growth of small businesses, Watermark Academy has unveiled its entrepreneurial development centre to address such needs.
Indeed, the academy, a faith-based entrepreneurial development center that serves the purpose of incubating both aspiring and existing entrepreneurs in the principles of creating and establishing successful world class enterprises and business systems is expected to drive the objective.
Speaking during a meeting aimed at sharing the vision and mandate of the academy with its faculty members in Lagos, founder, Watermark Academy Ms. Victoria Adewunmi, who spoke on the academy’s perspective on entrepreneurship, described it as a pivotal tool for nation building and economic advancement.
She spoke on the academy’s mission values and its enterprise development strategy, which integrates learning, mentoring and financing opportunities for its students.
She also detailed its operations strategy, which rests on designing entrepreneurial-based trainings as well as creating a community that supports entrepreneurial-based CSR initiatives.
Adewunmi also highlighted that the development of entrepreneurs is largely a societal-based responsibility, more than is government based. According to her, the academy targets entrepreneurs who are actively engaging in business pursuits. She also discussed how the academy’s purpose, which is of developing nation-building entrepreneurs, serves to impact on the economic development of Nigeria.
