Fidelity Bank Supports Rehabilitation of School
As part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), members of staff of Fidelity Bank Plc’s risk management department have donated and renovated the Boys’ Correctional Home.
The project was sponsored by the Fidelity Helping Hands Project (FHHP) with an equal contribution from the bank and the risk management team.
Aside the renovation of the classrooms, the bank also, contributed a total of 20 items, which included video camera, camcorders, sound proof wall padding for the music studio, UPS, heat transfer machine, laptops, desk top computers, printers, scanners.
While presenting the items, the Executive Director, Risk Management, Mrs. Onome Olaolu appreciated the Lagos state government for its supports towards rehabilitating the school.
She said: “Today is a special day for us in the bank especially for the risk management directorate. We are here to contribute to the lives of these children brought out from the streets and I am pleased to hear success stories like a boy who won the award for being the best student in Lagos. “This goes to show you that he could have been killed by a straight bullet or harmed on the street, but thankfully this project has brought him out of such hardship and made him someone today.”
She also appealed to visitors and staff members to equally make more contributions and assured the bank would continue to support the less privilege. Senior Advisor to Lagos state Governor on Youth and Social Development, Mr. Enitan Dolapo Badru thanked the bank and its workers for the kind gesture.
He said: “This is a good course to support because anyone could become disabled and what the bank has done today we appreciate and we are happy and glad on these contributions as these boys would benefit immensely from them.”
