Police Arrest Trader for Shaving Woman’s Pubic Hair

A 35-year-old trader, Ibrahim Adamu, has been arrested by police in Benin for reportedly shaving the pubic hair of a 25-year-old woman without her consent.
The suspect was alleged to have lured the victim, Ms. Jumai Jasper, into his room last week Tuesday at Aduwawa Community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
Jumai was alleged to have demanded for her hair upon suspicion that Adamu had ulterior motive.
Upon interrogation, Adamu who hails from Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State however admitted shaving the victim’s hair, but denied using it for ritual purpose.
The suspect who did not disclose the whereabouts of the victim’s hair, alleged that the residents at his neighbourhood were those who invited police.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Adegbuyi, who confirmed the report, said the suspect would be arraigned in court for indecent assault when police investigation is completed.
Adegbuyi also paraded two other suspects for offences bothering on rape and defilement of minors.
In a related development, 39-year-old man accused of allegedly committing an offence of having unnatural carnal knowledge of a 10-year-old boy, has pleaded for clemency.
Chinedu Okandu was arrested by police at Aihuobabekun Community in Ovia North-east Local Government Area of the state on February 23, 2015.
He attributed his sexual escapade to “prolonged bachelorhood’’ during an interview with journalists.
Fire Incident at Lagos Airport
There was a fire incident at the ‘E’ arrival wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), said in a statement.
FAAN, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the incident occurred at about 1:13p.m. “The smoke was quickly traced to some offices at the ‘E’ wing on the ground floor of the terminal by a combined team of FAAN’s electrical engineers and fire officers,” Yakubu Dati, FAAN spokesman.
