Be good ambassadors, Awosika urges graduating pupils


The founder of Chrisland Schools, Lagos, Chief Winifred Awosika has advised the graduating students of the institution to be good ambassadors of the school as well as their families and the country at large whenever they find themselves.

She gave the advice at the valedictory service held in honour of the outgoing pupils of the primary arm of the institution located in Opebi, Ikeja, recently.

Awosika called on them to always display good morals the school and their parents had inculcated in them, saying such practice would greatly help them in achieving their aspirations for life.

According to her, “I implore you never to forget the daughters and sons of whom you are, and all that you have learnt in this great school.”

The Head Girl, Toyobo Toniloba, full of smiles expressed appreciation to the institution for impacting the high standard of education they had gained. She, on behalf of her set profusely thanked the teachers for imbibing in them the moral standards and skills which they had learnt. “It’s been an awesome seven years.

Aside from excellent academic education, we were taught how to be morally responsible. Am privileged to have learnt how to play musical instrument, we have learnt different extra-curriculum activities such as playing chess, scrabble, swimming, public speaking, etiquettes, different languages and a whole lots of activities,” she said.

The event filled with colorful dance and musical performances by the outgoing students culminated with prize giving and awards to deserving students. The first, second and third, overall best year six students; Toyobo Toniloba, Adelola Omowumi and Fadaka Ayomi respectively, went home with scholarship, award plaques and gift items.

Some other awardees were; Mgbeokwere Chibudom, Onwuasor Richard and Olakunle Okubena- first second and third overall year five students; Toyobo Tomilola, Eke Jayne, Okeke Kaira- first second and third overall year four students; Dukor Chinekwu, Alabi Erioluwa, Tunji-Kuku Tomiyin- first, second and third overall year three students; Anim Noble, Egwuatu Adaeze, Michael Dalton- first second and third overall year two best students; Ezeji Eberechukwu, Anifowoshe Seunayomi, Alabi Iyeoluwa, first second and third overall year one best student.

Some special guests in attendance are; Mr. Ejayeriese, General Manager, Operation Technical, Geosciences, Exxon Mobil Plc, representatives of Oba Osolo of Isolo Kingdom, Kabiru Alani Agbabiaka, Chief Ologunde; Vice-Chairman, All Progressive Congress, Lagos State, Pastor Mercy Oyahkilome and Chairman, Agege Local Government, Hon. Alhaji Jubreel Abdulkareem, among others.
