Proprietress admonishes parents on children performance
The Proprietress, Botsun Private School, Lagos, Mrs. Iyabo Onibokun has urged parents to always be part of their children academic progress for them to excel. According to her, this is necessary because education starts from home.
She made the remark during the school graduation ceremony last week. Onibokun, who was once a principal before starting her school some years back, said parents need to support the teachers at home so that the children will have all round performance.
She said any child whose parents take part in his or her school work excels in what they do.
“I am not saying they should help in writing their home work or pay teachers to help them write exams but they should ensure they monitor their school work and see that they do their home work instead of playing around,” she said.
On security, she told parents to be security conscious, especially during this long holiday and avoid some gatherings if possible.
To the graduating class, Onibokun said they should keep the flag flying because she is very sure that they are wellequipped for the future.
In his speech, the graduating students’ class teacher, Mr. Tope Alabi said the students were tutored under committed teachers to make them a complete human being that parents, community, state and nation can be proud of in the nearest future.
The head girl of the school, Miss Oluwabukolami Talabi, on behalf of the graduating class, thanked the school for laying a good foundation for them and their parents for contributing to their success.
