Beware of fake agents, educationist warns parents
The Principal, Babcock University Schools, Ogba, Lagos, Gabriel Fasanu, has urged parents seeking overseas schools for their children to be wary of fake education-recruitment agents.
Such agents, Fasanu said, often promised to assist parents to get unrealisable scholarship opportunities for their children.
Fasanu, who spoke at a forum in Lagos, added that such agents lured unsuspecting pupils into unworthy educational pursuits, forced labour and other vices, which might ruin their careers.
He urged parents to endeavour to seek admissions for their children in faith and value-based schools in Nigeria that give priority to academic excellence and good character.
He explained, for instance, that the schools run by Seventh Day Adventist Church developed the total child’s total being.
The school’s Parent-Teacher-Association Chairman, Mike Mykell Jegede, who also spoke on the occasion, said the forum was remarkable, especially as it brought all its stakeholders together.
