Switzerland University appoints Nigerian as don
SWITZERLAND University has appointed a Nigerian, Gbenga Olowoye as Associate Professor in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship.
Gbenga Olowoye who earned his Bachelor’s degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1986 has been an international expert in Tanzania and East Africa since 2004 as the Principal, Magna House of Solutions Ltd.
He was responsible for strategy, research and policy analysis involving the provision of cutting-edge leadership solutions to frontline actors within public and private sectors. He moved with his family to Geneva, Switzerland in August 2011 but continued to develop cross-border partnerships between Africa and Europe.
In the last ten years he has led experts to carry out company-wide social and economic analysis for investment purposes and offering non-adversarial advice to clients on viable strategies and investment alternatives.
Olowoye has keen interest in institutional strategy and leadership and has been consulted widely for training and consulting by leading institutions and businesses, especially in Africa. He earned his MBA from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands with distinction in 2008. He is a doctoral research candidate at Plymouth University, UK.
Olowoye started out his career in production management and quality control in the manufacturing sector in Bauchi where he did his NYSC in 1986/87 and soon moved into international trade within the first decade of his career. In 1993 he founded his own company as a multi-disciplinary firm to lead assignments for 11 years in designing and implementing change processes and capacity building interventions and coordination in the areas of commodity export facilitations, management and human resources.
His professional exposure particularly in East & West African countries is extensive, with over 25 years of post graduation experience and expertise covering aspects of production, quality control, operations, accounting, finance, human resources, planning, sales and marketing, coaching, consulting, M&E, and research.
Gbenga is self-published and writes a weekly newspaper column on business development for the Arusha Times since 2006. He is presently a consultant/trainer for MDF-ESA, a Netherlands-based international cooperation development organization. He also collaborates with Kinetic Consulting, a Switzerland-based leading firm with robust leadership insight into organizational development and was recently appointed to teach graduate level students at the University of Business & International Studies (UBIS) in Geneva, Switzerland that offers both on-site and online higher education to a truly global student population in a global city.
