Indications to this fact emerged Monday, when National Mirror visited the school where a source close to the institution disclosed that since the council has withdrawn its accreditation, the state government has not effect renovation works as well as building new ones.
The school which was established since 1977 today is a shadow of itself and during a visit by some officials of the Council; they directed that its decaying structure be renovated.
The renovation according to the Council includes rooftops which was leaking and provision of hostel facilities among others. Despite the deplorable state of the buildings the sanitary condition of the school is also so bad that a bad odor welcomes visitors to the school.
A student who preferred to remain anonymous said the premises including student hostels is a complete eye sore as the old structures are infested with rats and bats without a solution in sight to change the situation.
Further investigations also reveals that in recent times no fewer than six senior nurses of the institution were sacked due to efforts towards trimming down the work force as it approaches its peak of shuting down after the current set of students might have graduated.
When contacted the Principal of the school Mrs. Pauline Atser said the state government is doing its best to resuscitate the institution and further declined to entertain further comments on the matter.
