An education consultant, Mrs. Kenny Omojola has urged stakeholders in
the sector, especially parents and teachers to start teaching children
how to handle the future of the country. She said this during the sixth
graduation and awards ceremony of Amville School, Lagos.
According to her, parents should start to teach their children on how
to ask questions when told to do something and they are in doubt.
“it is not a matter of been rude or challenging the authority or
their parents but it will help them to challenge what is going on in the
society and begin to think how they can improve the current condition
of the country,” she said. She also said there is need to make the
children to be aware of the happenings in the country.
“Because if we don’t start now to train our children in the proper
way they should go, their tomorrow might be worse than our today,” she
said. Earlier in her speech, the Executive Director of the school, Mrs.
Mosun Owo-Odunsi said the school had an amazing and accomplished year by
participating in several inter-school competitions like debate,
science, chess and Arts and they performed excellently. She thanked
parents for their determination and perseverance for their children to
be able to make it through another academic year.
To the graduating students, she urged them never to give up. “If you
come across challenges, don’t be discouraged, if you still don’t
understand, talk to your teachers, parents and friends because it is by
doing this you will be able to learn and perform excellently.”
“To all other students receiving awards for excellent achievement and
effort, I heartily congratulate you and urge you not to rest on your
oars. I commend your zeal and zest to win and excel,” she said.
The school lead monitor and best student in grade six, Sharon
Adewunmi in her remark, thanked the school, especially the teachers for
giving them the right education. Prizes were given to outstanding
students at the ceremony.
