NYSC cancels orientation

The National Youth Service Corps has cancelled the orientation programme for the 2014 Batch “B” corps members in compliance with the directive of the Federal Government that schools should not reopen now in order to check the spread of the Ebola virus.

The cancellation is contained in a statement signed by the Chief Public Relations Officer of the NYSC in Osun State, Mrs. Christy Olatoye, and made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Saturday.

It asked prospective corps members deployed in the state to visit the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede between September 1 and 8 for registration.

The NYSC also directed that corps members who had no bank account prior to this time should open one and give the details to the camp during registration.

Olatoye stressed that none of them would be allowed to stay back at the camp after registration. She said corps members were expected to report to the secretariat in Osogbo from September 15th to 19th for their posting to places of primary assignment
