Abuja-based Communication Towers Ltd in
conjuction with National Mathematical Center (NMC) Abuja has commenced
an electronic mock test for secondary school students in the South-East
geo-political zone.
The programe held at Government
Secondary School, Owerri, capital city of Imo Statewas aimed at
inculcating Information Communication driven skills in the secondary
school students in the country.
The 200 participating students were drawn from schools in the State which include Government Secondary School, Owerri and Living Word Secondary School, Nkwerre, Imo State among others.
Some officials of the NMC and representatives of both the Imo State Ministry of Education and the affected schools were also at the venue.
Three students who took first to third positions in the test include Adodalam Obina of theThe 200 participating students were drawn from schools in the State which include Government Secondary School, Owerri and Living Word Secondary School, Nkwerre, Imo State among others.

Living Word Secondary School, Nkwerre, Emerenini Eziokwu of Government Secondary School, Owerri and Nwokeukwu Emmanuel, also from Living Word Secondary School, Nkwerre, took first, second and third positions respectively.
Obinna scored 86 per cent, Eziokwu came second by scoring 83 per cent while Emmanuel came third with 63 per cent. Subjects taken were Mathematics, Physics and Biology, with average cumulative of 50 per cent.
The ratio of 120 students of Public schools and 80 from Private schools with total of 200 sat for the tests.
They carted away prizes of HP Computer tablets, HP Printers and a set of electronic Teaching learning aids each.
The essence of the tests centering around Senior secondary two and Seniour secondary three (SS 2 and SS 3) was to imbibe and preparing the students ahead of the School Certificate and related examinations facing them, including Joint Examination and Matriculations Board (JAMB) which will soon turn electronic.
Monitoring the exercise, the Managing Director and Chuef Executive Officer of the Communication Towers Ltd, Mr. Philip Chukwueke, told Daily Trust that CT officials were discussing with the officials of the Federal Ministry of Education on how to take the mock tests preparations serious in the country ahead of one and half years before the students take the external examinations.
