An educationist and author of “how to pass exam”, Mr Etim Ebere has expressed disappointment over the persistent mass failure of students in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in the country.
He said the development would need to be addressed if the country is serious in its drive to attain economic greatness in the comity of nations. Ebere stated this in a chat with National Mirror in Lagos, blaming the parents, teachers, and government for the low performance of student’s failure. Etim said that, social media, entertainment stations, games has taken most of the student’s time.
“Students have a nonchalant attitude towards their study, they also fail to acquire knowledge, he said. He stated that, there are nine terms for students to prepare for the WAEC and NECO, therefore students have no reason to fail.
He insisted that in schools, there are the good and bad student, the good ones, applies study as classes advance (SACA), while the bad students start to read one week to the exam.
He further said that, for this mass failure to reduce minimally, government should provide enough infrastructural facilities, students, should be well prepared for their examinations, classrooms, should be well equipped and there should be highly qualified teachers in schools.
