Law candidates outshine others in OAU post-UTME


Candidates who applied to study Law at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, outshone their counterparts from other faculties in the institution’s just concluded post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, said a majority of the candidates, who scored above 300 marks in the examination, were from the Law faculty.

According to Olarewaju, no fewer than 90 of the 14,648 candidates, who sat for test, scored 300 marks while 7,779 scored more than 200 marks.

The statement read, “Of the 14,648 who participated in the screening, seven out of the eight candidates who emerged first, second and third applied to read Law while the eighth candidate applied to read English Education. One candidate scored 360, two candidates scored 352 each, and each of the remaining six candidates scored 348 marks.

“Akinade Felicia (45027699HD), who scored the highest 360 marks, is of the Faculty of Law. Two others, whose scores followed closely second are Adeagbo Olanike (45737901HC), 352 (Law), and Koye-Ladele Mofehintoluwa (47368712CI), 352 (Law). The third position went to Iloabuchi Collins (47185750II) also of the Faculty of Law. He scored 348.

“Other high flyers are Ayodele Oluwaseun (47189939DE), 348, (Law); Odelami Akinleye (47194139EE), 348 (Law); Ajayi Jesuferanmi (47198557HJ), 348 (Law); and Ojo Olaonipekun (47356218GI), 348 (Edu/Eng).”

Our correspondent, who visited the exam centre, said the conduct of the examination was hitch-free.
