Do not shun morals, principal tells pupils

The principal, Ronik Comprehensive College, Ejigbo, Lagos, Mrs. Mogbonjubola Ejirinde, has called on pupils to embrace good behaviour.

She made this call during the 17th Valedictory and Prize-Giving ceremony of the school last Friday.

In her address, Ejirinde advised the pupils not to overlook the importance of morals even as they go in search of the proberbial Golden Fleece. She encouraged them to combine academic excellence with impeccable morals which she said would propel them to greater heights.

“Let discipline be your watchword and obey all school rules and regulations. We expect you to be at your best both morally and academically. It is now time to go and lead a life of hard work, excellence, integrity and discipline. I enjoin you all to face life without fear and remain focused,’’ she said.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the school also donated a traffic stand to the Federal Road Safety Corps. While accepting the stand, the Unite Commander, Ikotun, Mrs. Chinwendu Iwuoha, expressed appreciation to the school authorities.

“Ronik has been a pillar of support for the FRSC. Many of us here do not know how to use a round about and a junction. But by the time this traffic stand is put in place, it would make things easier. We all need to go back and read out Highway Code,’’ she said.

The best graduating student, Master Abdulrasheed Audu, said hard work and discipline helped him to clinch the top position. Audu, 16, was the best graduated in English, Chemistry and Maths and Science. He already has admission into the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada.
