Lagos, Rotary to renovate 80 schools

The Service Projects Manager of Rotary Club of Ikoyi, Susan Omotosho, says the district is in collaboration with the Lagos State Government to renovate no fewer than 80 public schools in the state.

She stated this at the inauguration of Chief Charles Okonkwo as the 30th President of Rotary Club of Ikoyi in Lagos.

The initiative, Omotosho, added would focus on the provision of chairs and tables as well as the fencing of the school.

She said, “One of the major projects this year that the Rotary Club of Ikoyi is expected to accomplish is the renovation of about 80 public schools in Lagos, on which the state government has agreed to partner with us on this.

“Our major goals are to provide tables and chairs in the classrooms for the children as most of them are sitting on bare floor or on sand. We have also agreed to fence the schools because if it is left that way, it leaves the children open to security challenges.”
