Zuriel, Dangote Foundation join drive for 2015 Education MDG
WITH less than 500 days to the realization of the 2015 Millenium Development Goals (MDG) set by the UN, especially the education of out-of- school children, A World at School Foundation set up by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife, has taken the lead in reminding the world about the commitments made in 2000 by world leaders. They have asked for the support of influential platforms around the world to ensure the reality of the goals.
From Nigeria, pledges of support have been received from two organizations and featured on A World At School global website. They are Zuriel’s Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up project (DUSUSU), and the Dangote Foundation.
Others who have committed to more efforts and also featured on their global site include World Vision, the UN Foundation, Dubai Cares, Western Union, Gucci’s Chime For Change, UK Aid, UNFPA, Girl Rising, Norwegian Refugee Fund, US Aid, Women Lead Nepal and The Global impact group.
Zuriel was recently in Washington DC at the end of her #FollowTheBallForEducation project, to meet the Director of the Peace Corp, whose volunteers are a key aspect of Zuriel’s policy delivery vision in empowering Africa’s new generation of rural area teachers in educating the continent’s children and future leaders. Yesterday, she also formally debuted her projects LOGO, under the DUSUSU acronym.
