Bwari residents want potable water, school
Some residents of Igu, Bwari Area Council, have appealed to the authorities of the area council to assist them with potable water and a senior secondary school.
Samuel Martins Anyingbayi, a resident, described lack of potable water as a serious challenge which the residents were yet to tackle.
He said: “The only available borehole stopped working about 15 years ago and since then no other alternative source of potable water has been provided for us. The only alternative we have is the stream, which is not good enough for our health.”
He complained that their wards, after completing their primary education in the community, do go to neighbouring communities to attend secondary school with, calling on the government to construct a secondary school in the community.
“Why would the government forget us and build a secondary school in another community,” he asked, alleging that the government has abandoned the community for too long.
