Monarch donates books to Arepo school

Olu of Arepo, in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Solomon Oyebi, on Thursday, presented exercise books worth N500,000 to Arepo Primary School.

Oyebi, while presenting the items to the school said to be the only public primary institution in the community, said the gesture was part of his contributions towards the educational development of the area.

He, however, promised to extend the gesture to private schools in the community, next year.

The monarch said, “The donation is because of my passion for educational development. Some pupils do not have access to educational materials not because their parents are not willing to buy them but because they cannot afford their cost.

“People, who are more financially stable should think about where they can come in to help the poor. This is because when many people have access to education, the larger society gets better while social ills reduce.”
